What to expect during a lactation consult...

  • You will receive a thorough history of the parent and infant

  • Address and evaluate nipple damage

  • Latch/feed evaluation

  • Weight check to assess milk transfer as needed

  • Answer questions and concerns

  • You will receive guidance/support to help you meet your goal

  • Provide a care plan

Insurance

Through my partnership with The Lactation Network, 3-6 of your lactation consultations can be 100% covered with major insurances. The Lactation Network accepts some UHC PPO, Aetna PPO, VA CCN and Humana plans.

 

If your insurance company is not in accepted with The Lactation Network, I will give a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for partial or full reimbursement. Payment for services is required at the time of your booking.

Cancellations

Please give a 24 hour notice to cancel or reschedule. Call/Text 571-774-8343

Missed appointments are missed opportunities for needed care for other families. 

​

Any no-show, cancellation, or reschedule that occurs on the same day as the appointment will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment fee.

**Please understand that insurance companies consider this charge to be entirely the client's responsibility.**

Unfiltered Lactation is privately owned and operated as well as unfilteredlactation.com. All information collected is kept confidential and protects patient data as required by the guidelines of practice.

Any information obtained by Unfiltered Lactation is by voluntary actions of the individual submission. This may be for contact purposes and client communication.
