Services for Tricare Families

At Unfiltered Lactation, we want to provide affordable access to the highest level of lactation support for all families. We believe in transparency about how insurance works so you know exactly what to expect.

Important: TRICARE generally covers only about 30% of lactation service fees, leaving the remainder for the client to pay. To make services more accessible, Unfiltered Lactation offers a 50% discount on all lactation service fees for TRICARE families.

Step 1: Referral Requirement (TRICARE Prime Only)

• TRICARE Prime families must get a referral from their primary care provider before submitting a claim.

 

Step 2: Payment at Time of Service

• All services are paid out-of-pocket at the time of your consult.

• Discounted fees with 50% off are:

  • Initial in-person consult: $125

  • Follow-up in-person consult: $100

  • Initial virtual consult: $100

  • Follow-up virtual consult: $87

• Services are offered only to families within a 20-minute radius of 22556.

 

Step 3: Superbill for Reimbursement

• After your visit, you will receive a superbill – a detailed receipt with everything TRICARE needs:

  • Provider info (name, credentials, NPI, contact info)

  • Service codes, date of service, and fees paid

• You submit the superbill to TRICARE for reimbursement.

 

Step 4: Reimbursement Processing

• TRICARE will reimburse according to your plan.

• Processing time varies depending on your plan.
